2019 Consolidated Election



The Genoa Public Library District announces two (2) full six- year term; two (2) four-year unexpired term; and one (1) two-year unexpired year term positions open for election to the Genoa Public Library District Board of Trustees during the April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election.  Candidates must be:  registered voters who have resided within the boundaries of the Genoa Public Library District for at least one year at the time of filing nomination papers; not in arrears in the payment of a tax or other indebtedness due to the library district; or have been convicted of an infamous crime, bribery, perjury, or other felony.  Candidate information and form packets are available beginning Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Genoa Public Library District, 240 W. Main Street, Genoa, IL during the hours the Library is open.


The first date to circulate nomination petitions to be a candidate for a Library Trustee position on the Genoa Public Library District Board of Trustees is Tuesday, September 18, 2018.  A minimum of eleven (11) signatures by eligible registered voters are required on the petition in order to get one’s name on the election ballot.  Candidates must file completed forms and petitions at the library during the filing period beginning December 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. through December 17, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
